 Blogstream Tag!

I've been tagged by Belle:

Hey Secret...we are playing Blogstream tag and I have tagged you. ... this is how you play..

... It's your turn!

What you are supposed to do is ...
post 5 things that you have heard and never forgotten. Post it here & on my blog too.
Then tag four others so they can post 5 things that they have heard and never forgotten.
...and they tag four others and so on and so on ...

1 - "Always wear clean underwear just in case you in an accident." My mom. I always thought this was crazy. Um, if I'm in an accident, I doubt I'll be thinking about my panties; nor will anyone else! Hopefully they'll be trying to save my life & not concentrating on my sexy panties!

2 - "If you get it out - you put it up!" Mom I've passed this phrase down to my kiddos almost on a daily basis! Hey! I'm NOT the maid 'round here.

3 - "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." The Golden Rule-Our Father God!. We all know where this came from. I think about this all the time. It's the best piece of advice I can think of for all of us.

4 - "The best gift you can give to your children is your time." I can't remember where I heard this but it's true. They don't want anything from you other than your time & love.

5 - "Never go to bed mad. If you never wake up, that might be the last thing someone will rememer." Can't remember where this came from either, but it makes perfect sense.

.

OK. Now I think I'll go tag....

 60 Seconds

As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let you down probably will. You will have your heart broken probably more than once and it's harder every time. You'll break hearts too, so remember how it felt when yours was broken. You'll fight with your best friend. You'll blame a new love for things an old one did. You'll cry because time is passing too fast, and you'll eventually lose someone you love. So take too many pictures, laugh too much, and love like you've never been hurt because every sixty seconds you spend upset is a minute of happiness you'll never get back.

Don't be afraid that your life will end, be afraid that it will never begin.

 Cloudy headlights?

No, I'm not talkin 'bout your boobies(.)(.)

My headlights have a film on them they you cannot get off. I've used compound & scrubbed them to no avail. They're so cloudy that I can use them on bright & no one will even flash me! Now my dim light went out too so I have to use them on bright at night.

Anyway, I called a junk yard to get some used headlights & was given a price of $100 each! That's high!! New ones for mine are $260 each.

Anyway, one of my customers has a body shop & I called him. He told me to use "OFF". He uses it on his own cars. I had no idea! I've tried everything for this. My boss went across the street & got some. He put it on my lights & said it did help. Now it was a quick job, but hey! When I get off work, I'm going to spray them & let them soak a bit before rubbing too. Hopefully, I can get it all off.

OFF...not just for bugs anymore!

 Are You Immature?

You Are Very Mature

Even though you may not always feel like it, you're a full fledged adult.
And while everyone should be as mature as you, most people aren't!

 School answering machine...

This is hilarious - no wonder some people were offended!

This is the message that the Pacific Palisades High
School ( California ) staff voted unanimously to
record on their school telephone answering machine.

This is the actual answering machine message for the
school. This came about because they implemented a
policy requiring students and parents to be
responsible for their children's absences and missing
homework. The school and teachers are being sued by
parents who want their children's failing grades
changed to passing grades - even though those children
were absent 15-30 times during the semester and did
not complete enough schoolwork to pass their classes.

The outgoing message:

"Hello! You have reached the automated answering
service of your school. In order to assist you in
connecting to the right staff member, please listen to
all the options before making a selection:
* To lie about why your child is absent - Press 1
* To make excuses for why your child did not do his
work- Press 2
* To complain about what we do - Press 3
* To swear at staff members - Press 4
* To ask why you didn't get information that was
already enclosed in your newsletter and several flyers
mailed to you - Press 5
* If you want us to raise your child - Press 6
* If you want to reach out and touch, slap or hit
someone -Press 7
* To request another teacher, for the third time this
year -Press 8
* To complain about bus transportation - Press 9
* To complain about school lunches - Press 0
* If you realize this is the real world and your child
must be accountable and responsible for his/her own
behaviour, class work, homework and that it's not the
teachers' fault for your child's lack of effort: Hang
up and have a nice day!
*If you want this in Spanish, you must be in the wrong
country."

I personally think each student is responsible for making sure they have their assignments to complete their homework, study for tests, etc. I (the parent) was NOT at school today; however YOU WERE. How am I supposed to know what you have for homework? Now the parent(s) can assist the student - if they need help - but NOT do it for them.
It's is the parent's responsibility to make sure their child is at school. If you miss a certain number of days, you cannot pass - period.
