 Local Idol contest

One of my best friends from High School & I are still very close (along with her twin sister). We still talk quite often & even hang out together when we get a chance. Anyway...

Her daughter will be competing in a competition tonight called "Searching for the Stars". It's for local talent & she'll be singing. Lordy, that girl sings like an angel!! So tonight I'm going to watch her & pray that she does well - & possibly wins her age group! That would be so cool!

Lulu was supposed to be going with me, but she's decided she'd rather spend the night with one of her friends. So, I guess I'll be my own date tonight for this. I'm really looking forward to it!

 If Everyone Cared...

If Everyone Cared

From underneath the trees, we watch the sky
confusing stars with satellites
I never dreamed that you'd be mine
But here we are, we're here tonight

Singing Amen, I, I'm alive (I'm alive)
Singing Amen, I, I'm alive

[Chorus:]
If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride
Then we'd see the day, when nobody died

And I'm singing
A, Amen I, Amen I, I'm alive
Amen I, Amen I, Amen I, I'm alive

And in the air the fireflies
Our only light in paradise
would show the world they were wrong
And teach them all to sing along

Singing Amen, I, I'm alive (I'm alive)
Singing A, Amen, I, I'm alive

[Chorus x2]
If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride
Then we'd see the day, when nobody died

[ Lyrics found on http://www.metrolyrics.com ]

If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride
Then we'd see the day, when nobody died

When nobody died...
ahh ahh...

And as we lie beneath the stars
We realize how small we are
If they could love like you and me
Imagine what the world could be

[Chorus x2]
If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride
Then we'd see the day, when nobody died

If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride
Then we'd see the day, when nobody died

We'd see the day, we'd see the day
When nobody died...
We'd see the day, we'd see the day
When nobody died...died...!
We'd see the day when nobody died

I've been hearing & LISTENING to this song a lot lately. I would post the song for you, but I can't from work. For some reason, it's really taking a hold on my thoughts.

Maybe it's wishful thinking? Wouldn't it be nice??

 aaaaaahhh

Can you believe I have NOTHING that I have to do tonight??

No practice for either child...
No game for either one...
No appointment for any of the three....
No meeting to attend...

I can actually go home, heat up some spaghetti (I fixed last night) for Lulu & I, get early baths, watch a little TV, & go to bed at a decent hour! YEAH! B & Tay go to their dad's until Sunday evening, so I'll just have my little Lulu. It'll be nice to relax & get some very much needed rest.

Now tomorrow is a different story. I have to run home to grab her (30 minutes), drive back up here (30 minutes) to get her to her dentist appt at 5:00, & then rush back to the field for her game at 6:00. I'm gonna sneak away about 10 til 4:00 so I can make it all. Her dentist is usually on time & we're not there but about 15-20 minutes total. If they do that, I'll be fine. If she's late for her game, she won't be on the roster & will just be an add-on. So, I hope they clean good but not piddle around.

Now you can all do a happy dance for me cuz I get to rest & catch up tonight! I'm so happy.

 Cont'd softball...

I made it to Tay's game last night during the first inning. The score was 2 - 0 in our favor. This game went so fast: 3 up / 3 down, or pretty close.

Their pitcher made an incredible play for the ball & creamed herself/her knee into the block dug out. She was hurt & bleeding, but went back to the mound. She was in play running from 2nd to 3rd & ran right in the way of my Tay who trampled all over her. She was called out for interference with Tay getting the ball. Then the poor girl was hit by the ball next time she was at bat. She took a beating, but she was tough & hung in there.

There were some fantastic plays made by our girls! One of the outfielders had to rescue the ball from near the fence. She threw that ball in & it went all the way to home plate!! Our catcher jumped 2 feet up to catch the ball, get the runner out. It was great! The final play was hit straight into our pitchers glove. Her face was stunned! She snapped out of it, threw it to first (as the runner was headed to 2nd already) & got her out too. Double play ended the game with us on top! She was still in shock & couldn't believe she made such a fantastic double play. We ended up winning 6 - 5. It was a great game all around. I'm so glad I made it there on time too.

Then it was hurrying back to get to Lulu's game. I got back just in time to get her there myself. I had made arrangements for her to have a ride in case I was late.

We had a few awesome plays too - especially for 7 yr olds. A few of these girls will really be good when they get older. Some can already hit & field the ball well. We won this game too 15-4. They finally called it. I ate & breathed in a lot of dirt as I was sitting directly behind the plate keeping the scoreboard. *cough cough* The girls were excited.

Our next game will be Thursday night. So...wish us luck!

 My softball life

After our tournament Saturday, the coaches told the girls they'd be at the school/field yesterday from 12-2 in case any of them wanted some extra practice. Well, Tay was the only one that showed up! I guess that's good for her. They know she's serious, plus she got nearly 2 hours of one-on-one coaching!

Straight from work today, I'm headed to my Tay's softball game. I'll have to hurry to get there on time. The season is ending for them, so it'll be her last game I see (unless she joins a summer league - which I hope she does!). Her last game (tomorrow) is too far away for me to get there before the end of the game, so I'll miss it. I hate missing her games. Anyway, I'm anxiously awaiting to see her at her best tonight.

As soon as her game is over, she & I have to hurry back to our school because Lulu has a game at 7:30. I want to get to hers on time too. I've got her riding there with another team-mate/neighbor so she'll be there on time. They have to be there at 7. Tay has been working with her daily on her grounding, flies, hitting, catching, etc. It should pay off.

I'm going to be sad for Tay's to end. Luckily, I still have many of Lulu's games left to be played. I just love me some softball!!

Anyway, just catching you up. Hope you are all doing well!
