My Soap Opera Life

 It's Sooooo Hot!!!

We're expecting another day of 102 degrees. It's ridiculous!

It's Soooo Hot Here Right Now That.....

The birds have to use potholders to pull worms out of the ground.

The trees are whistling for the dogs.

The best parking place is determined by shade instead of distance.

Hot water now comes out of both taps.

You can make sun tea instantly.

You learn that a seat belt buckle makes a pretty good branding iron.

The temperature drops below 95 F (35 C) and you feel a little
chilly.

You discover that in August it only takes 2 fingers to steer your
car.

You discover that you can get sunburned through your car window.

You actually burn your hand opening the car door.

You break into a sweat the instant you step outside at 7:30 a.m.

Your biggest bicycle wreck fear is, 'What if I get knocked out and
end up lying on the pavement and cook to death?'

You realize that asphalt has a liquid state.

The potatoes cook underground so all you have to do is pull one
and add butter, salt and pepper.

Farmers are feeding their chickens crushed ice to keep them from
laying boiled eggs.

The cows are giving evaporated milk.

STAY COOL!

Our 2007 Cheer season has started. Our Jamboree Game is tomorrow. We'll perform our half-time show first. We then have 2 games to cheer for (with a game in between). I'm just glad we'll be finished by 11 or 11:30am as it's supposed to be 101 degrees again tomorrow. HOT! Anyway, here are a few pics I took of Lulu in her new uniform. I made to for the program book. Enjoy!

 Red Tomatoes

A beautiful woman loved growing tomatoes, but couldn't seem to get her tomatoes to turn red.

One day, while taking a stroll, she came upon a gentleman neighbor who had the most beautiful garden full of huge red tomatoes.

The woman asked the gentlemen, 'What do you do to get your tomatoes so red?'

The gentlemen responded, 'Well, twice a day I stand in front of my tomato garden naked in my trench coat and flash. My tomatoes turn red from blushing so much.' Well, the woman was so impressed, she decided to try doing the same thing to her tomato garden to see if it would work. So twice a day for two weeks she flashed her garden hoping for the best

One day the gentleman was passing by and asked the woman, 'By the way, how did you make out? Did your tomatoes turn red?'

No', she replied, 'but my cucumbers are enormous.'

 Colored Folks

This was written by a black gentleman in Texas

And is so funny. What a great sense of humor

And what creativity!!!

.

When I was born, I was BLACK,

When I grew up, I was BLACK, ,

When I went in the sun, I stayed BLACK,,

When I got cold, I was BLACK, ,

When I was scared, I was BLACK, ,

When I was sick, I was BLACK, ,

And when I die, I'll still be BLACK, .

.

.

.

NOW, You "white" folks....

When you're born, you're PINK,,

When you grow-up, you're WHITE, ,

When you go in the sun, you get RED,,

When you're cold, you turn BLUE,,

When you're scared, you're YELLOW,,

When you get sick, you're GREEN,,

When you bruise, you turn PURPLE, ,

And when you die, you look GRAY,.

So who y'all callin'

C O L O R E D folks?

.

This struck me funny so I thought I'd share with you!

 Wal-Mart was an nightmare!

When I got home from work last night, I was presented with the usual "we gotta go to Wal-Mart!". I actually cringe when I hear those words. I've been there SO many times in the last week for school stuff already.

The two older ones (high school) don't know what all supplies they need until the first day. Each teacher will tell them what they require. That means that every kid from all the local schools were CRAMMED in to small isles/spaces looking for the same things. We were in that nightmare for over 2 hours! Tay's best friend's dad & I were standing between displays with our buggies watching all the kids go back & forth. You couldn't dare go down an isle! B comes by & drops stuff in...Tay comes by & drops stuff in... Her friend's dad said "you'll NEVER get outta here under $100". He was right.

We still have fees to pay too. $25 for Business...$15 for Biology Lab...12.50 for Choir...$3 for PE locker. These are just Tay's. I guess the school systems (not teachers) think we're all made of money. No this one.

Anyway, we did survive the first day/night. At least it's Friday & we can sleep later & catch up on some things tomorrow.

Hope you all have a great weekend!!
