 Star Student...

My Lulu is Star Student of the Week in her class this week!

She'll spotlight one student each week. I got a note from the teacher Friday telling me that it is Lulu. She had to fill out a form of her favorites, things about her, & draw a pic of herself. I had to send it back with a few pics of her & her favorite book. They'll all be hung up in her classroom or in the hall all week long. I'm invited to eat lunch with her one day this week, but not sure if I'll be able too. I sure hope I can arrange it with my boss man for maybe Thursday or Friday. She'll love that!

Also, she got her progress report last week & had all A's. Go Lulu!

YOU KNOW YOU ARE LIVING IN 2007

WHEN…

1. You pull up in your own driveway and use your cell phone to see if anyone is home to help you carry in the groceries.

2. You haven't played solitaire with real cards in years.

3. You have a list of 15 phone numbers to reach your family of three.

4. You e-mail the person who works at the desk next to you.

5. Your reason for not staying in touch with friends and family is that they don't have e-mail addresses.

6. You accidentally enter your password on the microwave.

7. Every commercial on television has a web site at the bottom of the screen.

8. Leaving the house without your cell phone, which you didn't have the first 20 or 30 (or 60) years of your life, is now a cause for panic and you turn around to go and get it.

10. You get up in the morning and go on line before getting your coffee.

11. You're reading this and nodding and laughing.

12. Even worse, you know exactly to whom you are going to forward this message.

13. You are too busy to notice there was no #9 on this list.

14. You actually scrolled back up to check that there wasn't a #9 on this list.

AND NOW U R LAUGHING at yourself. Go on, forward this to your friends. You know you want to!! And Yes, I was laughing and I did scroll back to see that there wasn't a #9

 The Middle Wife

The "Middle Wife" by an Anonymous 2nd Grade

Teacher :

I've been teaching now for about fifteen years. I have two kids myself,
but the best birth story I know is the one I saw in my own second-grade
classroom a few years back.

When I was a kid, I loved show-and-tell. So I always have a few
sessions with my students. It helps them get over shyness and usually,
show-and-tell is pretty tame. Kids bring in pet turtles, model
airplanes, pictures of fish they catch, stuff like that. And I never,
ever place any boundaries or limitations on them. If they want to lug
it in to school and talk about it, they're welcome.

Well, one day this little girl, Erica, a very bright, very outgoing
kid, takes her turn and waddles up to the front of the class with a
pillow stuffed under her sweater.

She holds up a snapshot of an infant. "This is Luke, my baby brother,
and I'm going to tell you about his birthday."

"First, Mom and Dad made him as a symbol of their love, and then Dad
put a seed in my Mom's stomach, and Luke grew in there. He ate for nine
months through an umbrella cord."

She's standing there with her hands on the pillow, and I'm trying not
to laugh and wishing I had my camcorder with me. The kids are watching
her in amazement.

"Then, about two Saturdays ago, my Mom starts saying and going, 'Oh,
Oh, Oh, Oh!' Erica puts a hand behind her back and groans. "She walked
around the house for, like an hour, 'Oh, oh, oh!' Now this kid is doing
a hysterical duck walk and groaning.

"My Dad called the middle wife. She delivers babies, but she doesn't
have a sign on the car like the Domino's man. They got my Mom to lie
down in bed like this." Then Erica lies down with her back against the
wall.

"And then, pop! My Mom had this bag of water she kept in there in case
he got thirsty, and it just blew up and spilled all over the bed, like
psshhheew!" This kid has her legs spread with her little hands miming
water flowing away. It was too much!

"Then the middle wife starts saying 'push, push,' and 'breathe,
breathe. They started counting, but never even got past ten. Then, all
of a sudden, out comes my brother. He was covered in yucky stuff that
they all said it was from Mom's play-center, so there must be a lot of toys inside there."

Then Erica stood up, took a big theatrical bow and returned to her
seat. I'm sure I applauded the loudest. Ever since then, when it's
show-and-tell day, I bring my camcorder, just in case another "Middle Wife" comes along.

Wasn't that funny??

 One Year on da Stream!

Today is my one year anniversary to be on Blogstream!

When I first started, I wasn't sure what to do, or if anyone would even care what I was writing - let alone actually read it. Randy told me to give it time & others will come. So I did...

It didn't take long before I had the nicest people dropping by my blog & leaving comments. Since then, I have met some of the most wonderful, loving & talented people! I love you all so dearly & feel privileged to have you as my friends.

I usually only get to post from work, so my blogging time is very limited. I'm guilty of doing the hit-n-run posts. I try to get by everyone's, but I fail so many times. I'm thinking about you & trying to get to yours. I just can't seem to get there every day as they expect me to actually work when I'm here. Imagine that.

I want to thank you all for your friendship, the laughs, the support & prayers you've all given me. I truly treasure you!

 We'll NEVER forget...

It doesn't seem like it's been 6 years since that horrible day - the attack on our country. May be never forget those who lost their lives during this, & those who lost theirs helping others, & all of the people effected, directly or indirectly, by this event.

I was standing at The Pentagon just a few weeks after this occurred. Words cannot describe... There were many people standing there just staring, in total shock, at the sight of the large hole in the building, the black from the fire & smoke, & the debris laying around. There was a large American Flag draped over the hole. I took pictures & had tears rolling down my cheeks the whole time. There was a weird "feeling" just hanging in the air that everyone there felt. Undescribable...

Continue to pray for our wonderful country. We have been asked to fly our flags at half staff today, & also to drive with our headlights on.

God Bless the USA!!
