My Soap Opera Life

 This-N-That

Halloween was nice for us. Tay went out with a few of her friends trick-or-treating & being girls - B went to eat & to a haunted house with one of his friends - & Lulu & I went trick-or-treating around places that we knew to be safe. I had a time getting the spray hair paint out of her hair, but she had a great time.

We have found out that mother did have a recent light stroke & she is still in the hospital. They also found in one of her tests that there is something about a seizure disease (or something). My brother told me that so I'm not sure about the details. Anyway, she still says random things, & has a hard time thinking &/or speaking words. I'll be visiting with her both days this weekend too so I'll hopefully have better news next week...I pray that I will. This is really hard on me seeing her this way.

Lulu had her last cheer practice for the season last night. Randy left for a bit while we were gone, but came back to spend the night with us. We all ate corndogs for dinner! Yep, nice & nutritious!! Tomorrow, she will be cheering at their next playoff game at 11. Go!! I can't believe we made it to playoffs! Then we'll go visit with mother for a bit later in the afternoon. Tomorrow evening, the cheerleaders & football players are having an end-of-season party & will get trophies, eat chili & just have fun. Tay is going to one of her friend's birthday party & will probably spend the night with her. So, my weekend is once again booked!

Oh, the varsity girls had basketball tryouts this week Mon-Wed & Tay made the team! I actually had no doubt that she would, but still...we're excited - & practice started yesterday. Now she has practice every day after school & will begin having the basketball games in a couple of weeks. B's boys varsity games will also start their practices next week. Their games are supposed to begin the 16th too, but they might have to be rescheduled due to football playoff games for the high school. Yes, we're still in the playoffs!! This is the first time since 1995 for our school to get anywhere near the playoffs. Congrats to all of the school's teams for such a great year!!

And such is my life....

Hope you're all having a great day!

 Mother...

Mother was even worse yesterday evening than the night before. I'm wondering if she might have had a light stoke during the night that no one was aware of... Evidently, according to the MRI, she's had a recent stroke. That could've caused her seizure Sunday night. She'll be trying to talk to you & then it's like her brain short-circuits or something. She'll lose the word or her train-of-thought...be unable to speak it...or just change what she was saying all together. It's all I could do not to cry.

They removed her IV yesterday so that in itself made her feel better. They also moved her to a different floor last night. Here they can better watch her & see how her new meds are working & regulate them. Now our visitation times are very limited. She can call out at certain times, but I know she doesn't remember our phone numbers.

I just want my mommy back.... I WANT MY MOMMY!!!

Exciting, Happy, Sad, Confused, Scared...& Tears...

Ok...where to start with the update....

My mother has been getting much worse over the last several weeks. Her Dementia (think BiPolar actions!) meds aren't working any longer & she's just way too much for us to handle her, but we must. It's so scary & sad too...

I already told you about Lulu's homecoming ceremony 2 weeks ago where she crowned the new 2007 Cheer Queen. That was fun watching her do this, & then cheer at her game.

Last Monday evening, I was told to remove a sweet post that I put on here Friday afternoon & was told it offended some people. I have no idea why a 4-day-old post suddenly turned offensive. I thought it was sweet, but still... *shrug* I removed it & closed my blog as I don't like standing in or near bullsh!t. So, add more hell to my time over the next few days.

Thursday night, I had to leave work to pick up my best friend's convertible. I left work at noon Friday so I could go home, clean up the car, get myself & Lulu ready & be at the school to start the homecoming for the high school. My Tay was voted the Freshman Princess. I drove her around the field & let her out where her dad escorted her on to the field. After I finally found a place to park, I hurried back in so I wouldn't miss the ceremony. She looked SO beautiful!! She was very nervous too, but smiled despite it (with my reminding her every 3 seconds!LOL)

Saturday, I had to return the car in one county, pick up Lulu's birthday cake in my county, & then get to her game by 4:00 in a different county! Whew I was so hurried all day. We finished her game & then stayed for the next one. My mother had my lines stopped up so Randy was putting some Liquid Fire in them to clear them out. We couldn't be in the house so we hung out at the field for awhile longer. I was so glad to finally get home.

Sunday, we had Lulu's 8th Birthday party at the local skating rink. She had lots of friends & family there & had such a wonderful time. I was very pleased with her party. We got home & she started playing with her new stuff. I went to take a shower as I was one worn out puppy. Nice & clean, ready for bed - or so I thought...

At 10:04pm my brother called to inform me that mother just had a seizure! She also hit her head when she fell. The EMTs were there working on her, but she wasn't talking/responding yet. I started bawling & was scared to death! I had the kids ready for bed. I had no choice but to leave them there for bed while I went to the ER. I figure an almost 15-yr-old & an almost-16-yr-old can watch a 8-yr-old safely. My sis came by & dropped my niece off too & I rode with her to the hospital. They all eventually went to sleep. I did call my ex's house & told their step mom I was leaving them alone. She said they could call her if they need to...

We spent all night in the ER waiting & waiting. They finally got her stabilized. XRays, EKGs, EEG, etc were run & all looked fine. They were going to admit her & move her to a room. I hurried home to get the kids up for school. They got dressed, ate, etc & got on the bus. Then Randy came by on his way to work to check on me & visit. I visited with him until he had to leave & I went back to lay down on my bed for "just a second" (BIG mistake!) - & passed out. I woke up about an hour later when the phone rang. I jumped up, cleaned up & went back to the hospital where I spent the rest of the day. Mother was stable now, but still on another planet. I just can't stand to watch it as it really breaks my heart. They scheduled her for an MRI for sometime (yesterday). I left last night to come get the kids, homework, dinner, & everyone bathed. I SO needed some sleep as I had to work today.

10:50 my phone rings & gives me a heart attack! Then a bit after midnight, the weather radio goes off with a tornado watch. Then about 2:45a the radio goes off again with a severe thunderstorm warning. Dayum I need some sleep!! My alarm goes off at 5:15a, so I've got to start my day. Yes, it's been a loooong day. I called & her MRI results showed a spot on her brain. He doesn't know if it's an old stroke or a new one. The doctor has to read it so we're waiting to hear about that too.

Now I get to get off work, pick up my girls, & head back to the hospital for awhile.

So, this is where I've been & some of what I've been going through. Hope you're all doing great & I've missed you!

(I hope this made sense cuz I've been typing this all day!)
