My Soap Opera Life

 Been busy & stressed

I didn't realize I haven't posted in nearly a week.... This weekend was such a blurrr...

Friday, right after work, I had to head to WP gym for the kid's basketball games. The boys won but the girls lost. B didn't get to play but 1 quarter as his knee is injured & holding fluid. Tay is such a good player & is so aggressive out there! I LOVE to watch her! Then I'm getting several stressful dramatic calls on my cell every 3 minutes. I just wanted to enjoy my children playing something they both love.

Then Saturday afternoon we had more games. I had to get up & head to WalMart to pick up some stuff for B's party after the games...then get Lulu ready to meet her aunt. She was taking her to a school friend's birthday party & then to spend the night with her. I finally got B dropped off at the school to ride the bus with the boy's team, met D with Lulu, & took a BIG breath to relax as Tay & I headed to the gym. I have no idea why the girls didn't ride the bus too.

Tay stayed to watch the varsity A boys game & rode home with her dad & step mom. B & I had to leave cuz he had invited 8 boys over for his b'day to spend the night. Can you imagine having 8 boys all 15 & mostly 16 yrs old in your house?? Only 4 were able to stay so that worked out really well. Actually, they were well-behaved too! I even got to sleep some.

Sunday was a cooking & shopping afternoon before having to get ready for the work/school week to begin. We watched a Christmas show before going off to bed.

Today is our office Christmas party. Tay made my chicken-cheese-ball for me while I made a Butterfinger cake for the office. It smelled SO good! We've been taking nibbles all day long!! I'm SO full I could bust at any second! I didn't even try some of the stuff here as there was so much. We have Velveeta cheese/Rotel dip w/chips, Baklava & assorted mini desserts, quiches, salsa & pita chips too. It was a variety to snack on all day. Now I feel . Boss man decided we can close at 3 today so I'll be getting to leave his joint in about 10 minutes! Yeah!!

Hope you all have a great week!!

 Prayers needed (again)

I don't know if any of you have read Randy's blog, but he was a victim of armed robbery Friday night. One of them hit him in the face/eye with their pistol after he gave up his wallet.

It's been a really rough weekend for both of us. After all of the kids' games Friday evening, I went to see about Randy & what shape he was in.... He said they have his drivers license & said if he contacted the police, they'd go to his house & kill everyone there since they know where he lives. Um...the address on his license is MY house! So, I called the county & have a watch on my house for the next month. That's pretty frightening for me & my children.

I called the police Friday night after this happened, but they said he would have to file a report himself. The nurse at the ER called too & was told the same thing. I'm trying to get him to go today to file. He must file a report!

Saturday, I had more games for the kids. After the games, he called to tell me that he decided to go to the ER so I went there to check on him as they were doing a Cat Scan. His eye has been really bad so I took him to the Eye Foundation Saturday night as the ER doc sent him immediately there. That was about a 1 1/2 hour drive. They thought he could lose the sight in that eye. Luckily, there was no blood in the eyeball & it will be fine. He looks much better today.

We were sitting in the room & the doc was testing his eye(s). She found a cut on his cornea that wasn't healing. She got a q-tip & opened the cut/cleaned it up a bit so it will heal correctly. Just as she was finished up with him I announced (grabbing a nearby trash can) that I'm dizzy & about to throw up - &/or pass out. About that time, I went out! Scott said the doc caught me & called for the nurses. They put me in a wheel chair & took me to a bed to lay on. They checked my vitals & blood sugar. All was fine. Evidently, I was out about 30-40 minutes before coming to. He said I was white as a ghost, sweating/clammy & my eyes were rolled back into my head. They kept asking him if I was diabetic, heart probs etc. He said he'd never seen me do anything like this & didn't know of anything wrong with me. They were talking about sending me to UAB Hospital across the street if I hadn't of started coming to when I did. He was scared but he said the nurses were SO sweet to me & taking great care of me. They decided that it must've been brought on my stress. I've been under a LOT of stress for quite awhile too. I'm very thankful that didn't happen while I was driving!

Anyway, I was supposed to go see mother yesterday but decided that I probably needed to stay home & rest all day. So, that's exactly what I did. I still felt a bit out of it, but feel better today.

Scott's eye is looking much better today, although still purple & a tad swollen still. He was sent home from work this morning as he was stumbling around not being able to see very well....

So...there is our wonderful *sarcastic* weekend!

Merry Christmas To My Female Friends

If I were ol' Santa, you know what I'd do
I'd dump silly gifts that are given to you
And deliver some things just inside your front door
Things you have lost, but treasured before.

I'd give you back all your maidenly vigor,
And to go along with it, a neat tiny figure.
Then restore the old color that once graced your hair
Before rinses and bleaches took residence there.

I'd bring back the shape with which you were gifted
So things now suspended need not be uplifted.
I'd draw in your tummy and smooth down your back
Till you'd be a dream in those tight fitting slacks.

I'd remove all your wrinkles and leave only one chin
So you wouldn't spend hours rubbing grease on your skin
You'd never have flashes or queer dizzy spells
And you wouldn't hear noises like ringing of bells.

No sore aching feet and no corns on your toes
No searching for spectacles when they're right on your nose.
Not a shot would you take in your arm, hip or fanny
From a doctor who thinks you're a nervous old granny.

You'd never have a headache, so no pills would you take.
And no heating pad needed since your muscles won't ache.
Yes, if I were Santa, you'd never look stupid
You'd be a cute little chick with the romance of a cupid.

I'd give a lift to your heart when those wolves start to whistle
And the joys of your heart would be light as a thistle.
But alas! I'm not Santa.I'm simply just me
The matronest of matrons you ever did see.

I wish I could tell you all the symptoms I've got
But I'm due at my doctor's for an estrogen shot.
Even though we've grown older this wish is sincere
Merry Christmas to you and a Happy New Year.

 Christmas Ornaments & Songs

You Are a Tree

You love every part of the holidays, down to the candy canes and stockings. And you're goofy enough to put a Christmas tree ornament on your tree!

Your Christmas Song Is

Jingle Bell Rock

Jingle bell, jingle bell, jingle bell rock

Jingle bells chime in jingle bell time

Dancin' and prancin' in Jingle Bell Square

In the frosty air

For you, the holidays are one big party

And you always end up having a little too much eggnog!
