My Soap Opera Life

 Why we miss Rodney Dangerfield

WE MISS RODNEY DANGERFIELD, BECAUSE . . ...

Rodney Dangerfield said . .. .

My wife only has sex with me for a purpose. Last night she used me to time an egg.

It's tough to stay married. My wife kisses the dog on the lips, yet she won't drink from my glass!

Last night my wife met me at the front door. She was wearing a sexy negligee. The only trouble was, she was coming home.

A girl phoned me and said, "Come on over. There's nobody home." I went over. Nobody was home!

A hooker once told me she had a headache.

I went to a massage parlor. It was self service.

If it weren't for pickpockets, I'd have no sex life at all.

I was making love to this girl and she started crying. I said, "Are you going to hate yourself in the morning?" She said, "No, I hate myself
now."

I knew a girl so ugly that she was known as a two-bagger. That's when you put a bag over your head in case the bag over her head comes off.

I knew a girl so ugly, they use her in prisons to cure sex offenders.

My wife is such a bad cook, if we leave dental floss in the kitchen the roaches hang themselves.

I'm so ugly I stuck my head out the window and got arrested for mooning.

The other day I came home and a guy was jogging, naked. I asked him,
"Why?" He said, "Because you came home early"

My wife's such a bad cook, the dog begs for Alka-Seltzer.

I know I'm not sexy. When I put my underwear on I can hear the Fruit-of-the-Loom guys giggling.

My wife is such a bad cook, in my house we pray after the meal.

My wife likes to talk on the phone during sex; she called me from Chicago last night.

My family was so poor that if I hadn't been born a boy, I wouldn't have had anything to play with.

He was definitely one-of-a-kind!

 B's surgery

Well, the verdict is in. He has a meniscus tear (torn cartilage) in his right knee. The meniscus sits between the cartilage surfaces of the bone to distribute weight and to improve the stability of the joint. The meniscus is nourished by small blood vessels, but the meniscus also has a large area in the center of that has no direct blood supply (avascular). This presents a problem when there is an injury to the meniscus as the avascular areas tend not to heal. Without the essential nutrients supplied by blood vessels, healing cannot take place. I'm not sure if his is vascular or avascular area. Hopefully it's the part that can heal!

In the operating room, the surgeon has two primary options, either remove the torn meniscus (a partial meniscectomy) or perform a meniscus repair to place the edges together with sutures or tacks.

They have scheduled surgery for the 31st of this month. He's scared to death. They won't know if it's repairable until they get in there. If not, I guess they'll clean it up (remove it?) & it'll have to heal over time on its own (if it will). If it is able to be repaired, they'll do that. I understand he'll have to keep it totally straight for a bit & will be on crutches for several weeks. Then he'll be wearing a knee brace & on to therapy. It's going to be a long recovery process, but he's young so hopefully he'll bounce back quickly. This is supposed to be 3-4 months to total recovery.

I know this will possibly knock him out of his basketball workouts for at least the first part of the summer. Hopefully that won't keep him from being on the team next year. He loves playing basketball - especially since he made varsity. I'd hate to see that taken away from him.

Anyway, I'll let you know how it goes when the time comes. Meanwhile keep him/us in your thoughts.

I've been getting bad about posting on my blog! I know I've been busy, but geesh!

Mother was released from the hospital Thursday, Dec 27th. My older brother picked her up & brought her to my house to spend-the-night with me. We had a nice visit & she was SO glad to be out of "that place". I'm sure... I took her to meet him again Friday for her after-release-doc visit. She stayed with him Friday night & then he took her to her new home Saturday afternoon.

She is now living in a boarding-type house. A lady owns it & has another lady that stays there half of the week to watch over her tenants. There are about 10 that live there - most all have been there for many years. Mother seems to really like it. This is a good thing as it's the only place we found for her to live since she cannot live alone in her own house. She says she's happy. Today is her birthday too.

B got his driver's license last Thursday. He was tickled to pieces about being able to drive alone. His dad let him drive he & Tay to the school for a Jr V game Saturday. He also drove himself to his game Friday afternoon cuz he had to be there earlier than Tay did. I know he feels like he's a grown-up...

I had to take him for an MRI on his knee over the Christmas break. He had fallen on it at basketball practice & it's been holding fluid. Well, the results came in & he has a torn ligament. So, he'll be going to the doc today for them to schedule surgery for him. That means no more basketball for him this season. He'll still go the the practices & games, but just can't participate. He'll be on crutches too for awhile while his knee heals. I'll find out this afternoon when that'll all happen too. I know he's young & still growing so hopefully this will play a part in his quick recovery & total healing. I know he's scared tho.

Tay has her permit & she's been driving some too. She has this big grin when she was telling me about her driving while at her dad's house. It's cute! Now I'll have the both of them gunning over who is going to drive. Um...I AM!

Lulu had a fever Thursday & when I picked her up that evening she had been dizzy all day. I took her to the doc & found that she had tonsilitis. This can cause that problem. Then the doc called the next day to inform me that her sinus xray from her 12/21 check up came it & she has an acute sinus infection. He called in an antibiotic for her. Needless to say, she & I were home all weekend so she could rest & get better. School started back today & she had to be better! I was so glad she was acting herself yesterday with her dancing, singing & cheer moves. Yep, she's feeling good now!

I hope you're all doing well & that the new year is being nice to everyone. We all deserve good things to happen to us & I'm thinking they will from hereon out.

 I'm ba-aaaaack!

Hiya Streamers!

Today is my first day back to work after having 13 days off! Let me just sat that it was NOT easy to get up & get moving this morning as it was 22 degrees here. brrrrr It's supposed to be about 10-12 tomorrow! I know I'll want to stay snug under my covers....

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas & holiday season! I'm really hoping/praying that 2008 will be a very prosperous & blessed year for everyone on here. We all deserve the best!

We had a great Christmas with the kiddos this year. Santa was pretty good to 'em! My little Lulu is always so happy about Santa & left him some cookies & milk out too. She's so sweet... Lulu picked me out a soft, warm pair of flannel PJs as that's what I told her I wanted. They're light blue with clouds & stars on them. Yes, her choice. Comfy too! B & T got me a gift set of Bath & Body stuff. I love that place! I was there for their semi-annual big sale Thursday morning to get some of their soaps too. Tay went to Victoria's Secret & got me a gift set from there of my favorite scent - Very Sexy! Yep, that's mua! *giggle* She said this was just from her & she used her own money. She was proud of it too. My sweet kiddos....

New Years Eve was very quiet at my house. B & T were with their dad, so it was just me & my Lulu. We had some shrimp cocktail & other snack stuff out & watched us some Dick Clark's Rockin NYE! WOOT!! She was determined to stay up but her little eye lids closed just a few seconds after 10. I watched it a short while longer before turning in myself. I'm such a party animal, I tells ya!!

Anyway, I hope this day finds you all very happy, healthy, blessed & full of love!

Today is my last day at work until Wednesday, January 2, 2008 - & I won't have access to my work email (which is where this goes to). I'm taking the remainder of my vacation to spend time with my children while they're out of school, & have some "me" time to relax. I'll be checking in here & there from my s-l-o-w dial-up at home, but usually get frustrated & end up turning it off. I'll keep up as best I can.

I wish you all the most joyful & blessed holiday season you can dream of. Meanwhile, I'm leaving you with this:
