Today has been SO lovely *note sarcasm*...
Tay was supposed to have a home game this afternoon at 4:30. I get an email from her step mom, who works at the school, that it was moved to the other team's field at a bit later time. Now I have a problem cuz Lulu is practicing too. Then one about 30 minutes later that it was a bit later than that...then one that the other team canceled it all. She calls... Now they may have a scrimmage game, if the coach can work it out. Ended up with her only having practice.
So, I go to the field where Lulu started practicing at 4:00. As I'm getting her gear out of the back of my car, my phone rings. It's B. Somehow I missed the call, but couldn't get him back cuz it's now busy. Then his step mom calls asking where I am. I just stepped out on to the field at Lulu's practice. "He's OK, but B has been in an accident".

It was in town so I told her I was on my way to him. I left Lulu's stuff with one of the parents & said I be back asap. The teacher/parent said she'd take her to PTO meeting with her if I don't get back before practice is over. I'm off to the accident site - a nervous wreck!!
B calls me & said he's ok, but some idiot (his words) hit him in the rear & pushed him in to the lady in front of him. He was stopped in traffic, along with a lady in a big SUV, waiting on someone else to turn. Come to find out, the boy in the truck was scanning a parking lot to see if his girlfriend/fiance's grandmother was working.

This is a main highway running thru town & is always very busy. Yes, let's scan parking lots going 45 mph & not watch where we're going!
The police pulls up, so we hang up. I get there to find him to really be ok. He said he did hit his knee on the dash/steering wheel column or something. Yes, the right one that he just had surgery on.

He was on his way home from physical therapy on this knee. I know I was "told" he was ok, but a mother can't be assured of that until she sees for herself. It's a mommy thing.
The boy comes up & apologizes several times. I find my van with the rear end smashed in, back door smashed, etc. The front now has scrapes & a permanent backwards "atoyoT" imbeded in the bumper.

It was from her Toyota trailer hitch thingy. She was lucky as there was no damage to her big thing at all.
For some reason, my driver air bad didn't deploy. I guess cuz the impact was in the rear & he didn't hit the front hard enuff? or as a fast enuff speed cuz he was sitting? I dunno... It was drivable, I assume/hope/pray, as the police had him pull over in the eye care place parking lot. Seems the lady he was scanning for works there. His truck front end is destroyed & he can't drive it. The policeman turns out to be the uncle of one of Lulu's best friends. After we finish up there, I tell B to drive straight home (on the backroads)...do not pass go...do not collect $200...go directly home. I had to get back to Lulu's practice, & then pick up Tay from hers too. I even made him call me when he arrived home. Paranoid? Yeppers!
After Tay's practice, she comes out to the car with "Can I drive home?" I let out a quick & adamant NO! Her big eyes told me that... Then I explained that B was just in an accident & my nerves were NOT up for her to drive...no way, no how.
Tonight, he's having a problem with something in his Physical Science homework. My niece is too. What does he want? To DRIVE to her house.

I had to think about it for about 10 minutes, but I let him. I called when he had enuff time to get there - & he just walked in. It's bad enuff to have a new teen driver, but gee!
THEN he calls back to inform me that aNOTHER idiot threw out & busted a beer bottle (Budweiser) at the bottom of my driveway!

He picked up the biggest piece, but would I go sweep the rest up cuz he couldn't see it very well, & needed to get to Jenn's to get his homework done. Now I'm in the shower when this call comes in. So, afterwards, I throw on some clothing & head out. There were little & bigger jagged pieces all over. Needless to say, I was NOT a happy camper.
I think I need to go to bed & get some good sleep.... Wait! I can't!!
Now I'm waiting on the "I'm on my way home" call.
