As usual, I’ve been busy with home-life, kiddos, & work. It was so nice having the extended holiday weekend – which gives a shorter work-week.

We had a really nice Labor Day weekend & cooked out some chicken breasts, burgers, & chops Monday afternoon. I also made some devilled eggs, creamed potatoes, baked beans, & a pie. mmmmm

Last night was the youth athletic board meeting. I was asked to attend as I was nominated by a couple of the parents to fill one of the places on the board for the next 3-yr term. Out of nine board member positions, 3 are ending their term. There ended up being 6 people nominated (including me) – 1 of which is one of the 3 ending her term. She can be re-elected, & I hope she is. The voting will take place at our homecoming game on October 4th. I don’t know if I’ll get enough votes as 2 of the men are involved in the football & there are far more boys than girls, but I’m on the ballot. *shrug* The board is in charge of all of the youth athletics (basketball, baseball, softball, cheerleading, football) activities, coordinating the games, homecoming, etc. The parents are actually supposed to volunteer to work the concession, etc, but the board has to arrange schedules, collect the money at the gates & keep track of it, make sure everything runs smoothly, etc. Between 9 people, they are spread out among the different games taking place. They only meet once a month, unless something special comes up.

I know it’s not like I’m not already busy enough, so if I don’t get elected, it’ll be fine with me. My time is already shared between the Tay & Lulu’s their softball, B & Tay & their basketball (Lulu wants to play this year too), & Lulu’s cheerleading. Anyway, that’s about all that's going on right now.

This Friday night is a home game for the high school. I know B & T want to go, & Lulu & I might go also. We also have our own youth game Saturday afternoon. It’s supposed to have spotty rain. I sure hope not. We got sprinkled on a bit last Saturday.

Scott's mother came home from the hospital Thursday & is doing well.

His sister came home Saturday afternoon & is doing well also. After surgery, she'll be sore for a bit, but is doing good.

Tay & a few others were invited to spend the afternoon with Taylor Saturday. Her parents had pizza & her close friends over. She was sore & got a little tired, but in good spirits. I went in to see her when I picked up Tay. She came up & hugged me. Such a sweet & beautiful girl! Tay said she's starting her chemo today. Please keep her & her family in your prayers.

I was off sick yesterday so I'm catching up. Hope you're all doing well!

I need to ask for prayers, good thoughts, well wishes, etc (whatever you do) for two special people in my life that I love dearly.

Scott's mother was admitted in the hospital late Tuesday night. She's going to be ok & should be coming home Friday. Please send up prayers for her.

His sister is having surgery this afternoon. Please send up prayers for her also.

Please keep the whole family in your thoughts & prayers.

Also, I just found out that one of Tay's friends at school had surgery this morning & has been diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. She's a beautiful, very intelligent 15 y/o active girl. This is really sad for her, the family, & her friends. Please include her in your prayers also. Her name is Taylor.
