 Time is flying by!!

I can’t believe how long it’s been since I posted! I’ve been so busy (as usual) but have managed to come make hit-n-run posts on most of your blogs. I just haven’t updated my own! I’m having a hard time wrapping my mind around the fact that June is about gone. Where does the time go? Summer will be over & school will be starting soon – August 9th, actually.

Lemme see… As for Lulu’s All-Stars in softball, we came in 2nd place. The girls played so well, but that one run in overtime made the difference. We’re all very proud of them.

Now we’re on to our next sporting activity. Last week we had our summer camp for cheer where the girls spent 4 hours for 4 days learning their halftime routines. Camp went really well & I’m so proud of my girls. It amazes me how much their brains can absorb in such a short time. We will begin practice tonight twice a week starting tonight.

B has started college & working. He just bought him a nice little truck last week! He's so proud of this & has been saving up for nearly a year. It's an 02 Ranger...paid for! Must be nice to not have a car payment, but I wouldn't know about that.

Tay just got back from a weekend at Auburn University for their Elite Basketball Camp. She should be going to a camp for softball within the next couple of weeks, but I'm not sure when or where just yet.

Other than that, not much else is going on. It's a non-stop job working in my yard & I still haven't managed to get the grass & weeds pulled up out of my flower bed. I've GOT to get that done! I think I'm going to enlist the kids for their help so it'll get done faster. I'll need a bushhog if I wait too much longer!

I hope all of you are doing well & enjoying your summer. Take care & have a wonderful week!!

 Go Raiders!!!

We (Lulu's 12 & under softball All Stars team) won our game against our biggest local rival last night 12-11!!! It was a great and close game too. We were up, they were up, we were up...then we got 1 run ahead at the very end so we won! Their girls are so much bigger than ours and I suspect they are all junior varsity players that were still 12 January 1st so they were allowed to play down. Our pitcher is that way, but I think all but two of their whole team is older and more experienced. We have several little ones - including Lulu who is only 10.

Now we are the only undefeated team. We will play tonight at 7:00 & I'm sure we'll be playing the same team. If we win that game, it's over & we'll be the champs. If they win, we'll have to turn right around and play again. They will have to beat us twice to put us in 2nd place. Hopefully that will not happen.

Wish us luck and pray that the girls play their best!!

 Quick update

Lulu's wrist is much better & she's back playing softball. In fact, this is the All Stars week & we've won both of our games played Monday & Tuesday. We play tonight again. If we lose, we'll play again right afterwards. If we win, we'll be playing in the championship game tomorrow night. I sure hope we play tomorrow!!
She even went to her cheernastics class last night. She had a make up class to do from missing spring break so we did it last night just to see how she would do. She's still listed inactive but we'll go back to active in 2 weeks since she'll be gone next week & won't be able to go. She really missed her class but luckily can still do all of it.

B has started college June 2nd for half a day & is working the other half (on the job training). This is from his scholarship. I'm still so proud of him. It's going really well!!

Both B & Tay will be gone all next week to their church youth mission trip. They've been going to Passport (wherever it's held) for several years now & really enjoy it. I'll miss them, but I know they'll be having fun. Yes, I will be kidless all next week!! Whatever shall I do with myself? Besides work, I'll be cleaning house & doing yardwork.

Lemme see...is there anything else to share....

Oh! I got Tay registered today for her Dual-Enrollment college English 101 class today. She'll take & get the first of her college credits during her senior year & have a head start. I'm happy! She's taking the ACT again Saturday & I hope her score jumps up some more. She'll be taking it as many times as allowed before she graduates next year since they accept your highest score. We want/need a full scholarship!

I guess that's about it. I hope you're all having a wonderful beginning to your summer. Take care!

 Various subjects & Congrats!

I have had the WORST time trying to post on here lately!!! I finally get to comment on a page & it takes it days to accept it & change screens...IF it does. I've been giving up each time....

UPDATE of Lulu: We went to the orthopedic Tuesday. He thought there was a place in her scaphoid bone in her wrist, but couldn't really tell. He did a side-by-side xray of both hands & the other kind of looked the same, so he thinks it's ok. It would've already started healing after 1 1/2 weeks too. The plaster splint was removed & she's back wearing her velcro splint. He said she will be allowed to play softball again as long as it doesn't hurt - but she is to wear her splint. This is good news for her & the team. Their last regular game is tomorrow night & her All Stars practice begins next week. She's happy she gets to play!

UPDATE of B: We went yesterday to the doctor & he cut off two places on him. He was NOT a happy camper &, in fact, passed out three times! It was pretty scary seeing it & we spent over an hour getting him to where we could leave the office. About every 15 minutes, he would go out again. He's better today but sore. They had graduation practice this morning that he HAD to attend, but he's back home laying down now.

Tonight is B's GRADUATION!! We are all so excited (especially him!) but it's bittersweet for me. I got a few tears at his baccalaureate Tuesday night & I know I'll cry tonight. Tonight marks a new era for his life. He doesn't get much of a break as his first college class begins next Tuesday. I'm so proud of him!!
